Residents at Scorton Care Village have been making the most of the beautiful spring weather with enjoyable outings and meaningful activities that have brought smiles, conversation, and companionship.

A recent long walk around the nearby lakes proved to be a highlight for many residents. Surrounded by stunning natural scenery, residents enjoyed taking in the fresh air and appreciating the changing season. During the walk, the group discovered a charming chair featuring an airplane design, which sparked plenty of conversation and fond memories among residents.

The walk also provided an opportunity to admire the vibrant colours of nature. Residents spent time discussing the trees in blossom and the colourful flowers brightening the green grass around them. The picturesque surroundings were greatly appreciated, with many residents commenting on the beauty of the landscape and the positive effect it had on their wellbeing.

Alongside their outdoor adventures, residents were delighted to welcome some special four-legged visitors during a recent therapy dog session.

The therapy dog visit created a calm, happy, and engaging atmosphere throughout the home. Residents eagerly interacted with the dogs, enjoying opportunities to pet them, talk to them, and spend quality time in their company. The visit encouraged social interaction and generated plenty of smiles and laughter.

It was wonderful to see the positive emotional impact the therapy dogs had on everyone involved. Residents appeared relaxed, cheerful, and fully engaged throughout the session, highlighting the comfort, companionship, and joy that animal-assisted activities can bring.
