A Time of Joy, Connection and Wellbeing!
Over the past weeks, Scorton Care Village has been a hive of activity, with a wide range of events and experiences designed to support both the physical and mental wellbeing of our residents.
To keep everyone active and moving, residents took part in gentle armchair exercises, ball games, and regular walks around the grounds. A special highlight was a visit from a friendly pony, which brought plenty of smiles and laughter.
The Macmillan Coffee Morning was another wonderful occasion, filled with delicious treats and warm conversation. Adding to the month’s lively atmosphere, a fantastic singer entertained residents and staff alike—there was dancing, singing, and even Alison from the office joined in the fun.
Animal visits continued to be a source of joy, with therapy bunnies and dogs bringing comfort and happy memories of much-loved pets from years gone by. Residents also enjoyed spending time outdoors, appreciating the beautiful views our village has to offer.
On the mental wellbeing front, reminiscence sessions encouraged residents to share their stories and life experiences, while quizzes, word searches, and games like “Guess Who?” kept minds active and spirits high.
We also welcomed a visit from the local vicar, who spent time chatting with residents and offering helpful advice on staying safe and comfortable during the warmer months.
Finally, self-care remained an important focus, with regular visits from the hairdresser and nail sessions that helped residents feel refreshed and confident.
It’s been a truly uplifting and rewarding month at Scorton Care Village, filled with laughter, movement, and moments of connection that remind us all of the value of community and care.
