Residents, relatives, staff, and members of the local community came together at Barton Lodge Care Home recently to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society as part of the charity's Forget Me Not Appeal 2026.
The Forget Me Not Appeal, which takes place throughout June, encourages people across the UK to wear a Forget Me Not badge as a symbol of hope, remembrance, and solidarity for everyone affected by dementia. Funds raised help Alzheimer's Society provide vital support services, campaign for change, and fund groundbreaking dementia research.
At Barton Lodge, the fundraiser brought together residents, families, friends, and staff for a day filled with community spirit, laughter, and generosity. The event highlighted the home's ongoing commitment to supporting those living with dementia and raising awareness of the challenges faced by individuals and their loved ones.
As a care home dedicated to providing high-quality dementia care, the cause holds special significance for everyone at Barton Lodge. Staff and residents were proud to support a campaign that aims to ensure no one affected by dementia faces their journey alone.

Laura, Home Manager at Barton Lodge, said:
"We are incredibly proud to support Alzheimer's Society's Forget Me Not Appeal. Dementia touches so many lives, and this campaign is a powerful reminder that together we can make a difference. It was wonderful to see our residents, families, staff, and local community come together to support such an important cause."
Residents also enjoyed the opportunity to share memories, spend time with loved ones, and take part in activities that celebrated connection, friendship, and community—values that are at the heart of life at Barton Lodge.
Everyone at Barton Lodge would like to thank all those who attended, donated, volunteered, and supported the fundraiser. Their generosity will help ensure that people affected by dementia receive the support they need while helping to create hope for future generations.
